Process

How It Works

Custom Car Key creates custom painted compatible key fob shells starting from $99, with complete aftermarket key fobs available by quote after compatibility review.

You keep your original key. We do not modify your original key, and we do not provide key cutting, cloning, programming, or immobilizer pairing. Our process focuses on compatibility, design approval, custom paint work, and shipping the finished shell or quoted aftermarket key fob.

The process

Step 1

Upload photos of your key fob

Send clear photos of your current key fob from the front, back, side, and button layout. If available, include your vehicle year, make, model, trim, FCC ID, part number, or any markings inside the shell.

Step 2

We check compatibility

We review your photos and details to confirm whether we can match a compatible shell or quote a complete aftermarket key fob option. If something is unclear, we may ask for additional photos.

Step 3

Confirm the design

Choose your paint direction, color, finish, and custom details. We confirm what can realistically be produced before the order moves forward.

Step 4

Production and custom painting

Once design and compatibility are clear, we prepare and paint the compatible shell or quoted aftermarket fob. More detailed finishes may require extra review and production time.

Step 5

Final check and shipping

After the piece is completed, we check the finish and ship the custom painted shell or aftermarket key fob option agreed for your order.

How It Works FAQ

Do you modify my original car key?

No. You keep your original key. We do not repaint, cut, clone, program, or modify your original key.

What do I need to upload?

Upload clear photos of the front, back, side, and button layout of your current key fob. Vehicle year, make, model, FCC ID, and part numbers are also helpful.

Is the $99 price for a complete working key?

No. Custom painted compatible key fob shells start from $99. Complete aftermarket key fobs may be available by quote after compatibility review.

Do you cut or program car keys?

No. We do not provide key cutting, cloning, programming, or immobilizer pairing. Any required programming or pairing must be handled separately through a qualified local provider.

Can every key fob be customized?

Not always. Compatibility depends on your key fob style, vehicle model, available shell or aftermarket fob options, and the design requested.

Will the buttons and electronics be included?

Shell orders are for the compatible exterior shell only unless otherwise stated. Complete aftermarket key fob options are quoted separately when available.

Can I choose any color or design?

You can request a color, finish, or theme, but final feasibility depends on the shape of the fob, material, paint process, and design complexity.
