Custom painted shells and quoted aftermarket fobs are personalized products, so returns work differently from standard ready-made accessories.

Short answer

Orders are easiest to change before production starts. Once painting, personalization, or aftermarket fob preparation begins, cancellation or return options may be limited.

Before production starts

Contact support immediately if the shell path, aftermarket fob path, design note, or shipping address needs correction.

After production starts

A custom painted shell or prepared aftermarket fob may not be reusable for another buyer, so change-of-mind returns are limited.

Fit uncertainty

If photos were not provided for an uncertain shape, fit-related return flexibility may be limited.

Defects or fulfillment mistakes

Send clear photos, order number, packaging photos, and a concise explanation so support can review the case.

Usually not eligible for return

  • Custom finish choices produced according to confirmed order notes.
  • Color expectations based only on screen appearance, lighting, or unofficial paint-match assumptions.
  • Orders expected to include programming, cutting, immobilizer pairing, or locksmith service.
  • Damage from keys, coins, tools, solvents, harsh cleaners, heat, drops, scratching, or normal daily wear.
  • Local setup problems after delivery, including electronics transfer, blade cutting, or programming performed outside Custom Car Key.

Can I return a personalized shell because I changed my mind?

Usually no once production has started.

What if I expected a ready-to-use replacement key?

Contact support, but the site does not sell guaranteed ready-to-use programmed replacement keys. Local cutting and programming may be required.
